Ismael was Baptized by his Father-in-Law!

This week was way good cause we had a baptism! Ismael is so legit. He pretty much asked if we could baptize him. Easy money.

He's a BIG dude. He didn't go all the way under the first time. His head and shoulders were above the water. So the second time he just fell in the water. His wife's dad (his father in law) baptized him.

Before the baptism, it was a little chaotic. There was also a huge multi-ward party this week where everyone dressed up in their authentic Panamanian clothes. It was super cool but I have no pics. There were SO many people! They had TONS of authentic Panamanian food.

Then, there was a huge birthday party afterward for one of Ismael's daughters.  The nice thing is that the very same night we had Ismael's baptism. It was pretty hard to get everyone in the room and settled down. The baptism finished at like 8:40 pm.

We also had a multi-zone conference this week, and I took a lot of good notes. I took pictures with one of Elder Ben Call's companions.

We got to eat at Subway for lunch. I went on splits with Elder Ashcraft. He is from Springville and also was an Assistant to the President for like 6 months. He served here in La Cabima so we just went looking for incomplete families. I really learned a lot by working with him! While we were working we talked to another crazy chick. Shes like 22 but started smoking weed at 14 with her brother. He didn't think that it was a bad thing and she was being very flirty. We left ASAP. SUPER WEIRD.

Today was P-Day because the great Elder Hanks in going home soon. We played futbol, basket and ping pong. We ordered tons of pizza. It was way chill.

Authentic Panamanian Food
A final thought about something I learned this week ... I didn't know what apostasy was until I came to Panama! For the most part people are really receptive to our message, but every so often you come across people who have just lost it.

That's about it for this week.

Peace out,
Elder Doxey
